For the “K” Line Ship Management Company Limited (KLSM), the India operations began as a Liaison Office in Mumbai. This was organized through Confidence Shipping. However, with the developments, KLSM established its own offices in Mumbai in the year 2004. The activities are mainly related to the welfare of seafarers working with us.

The status of the Mumbai Liaison office was upgraded on the 8th MARCH 2007, to a Fully Owned Subsidiary of the “K” Line Ship Management Company Limited, Tokyo. The Indian subsidiary was aptly named as “K” Line Ship Management (India) Private Limited. The operations under the new identity started on the 1st MAY 2007. At the helm of the “K” Line Ship Management (India) Private Limited is the Chief Executive Officer assisted by General Manager.

The Headquarters of “K” Line Ship Management Company Limited at Tokyo has appointed TWO Manpower Agents in India for Recruitment and Placement of Indian Seafarers. These are Confidence Shipping Co. Pvt. Ltd. (CSC) and the “K” Stem ship Agencies Pvt. Ltd.(KSMS).

At present the total number of ships manned by us has risen to 30. The whole fleet has been efficiently allocated between the two Manning agents. Management of all types of vessels has been our forte and we have been continuously expanding and upgrading our fleet of ships and the services. Our plans for up gradation of the fleet have been finalized up to 2008.

The hiring and training of the crew is done professionally and the selection is at the level of Deck and Engine Cadets and from the best Institutes such as Vels Academy, AMET, T.S.Chanakya, Cochin Shipyard and Others.

With 347 Indian and 43 Bangladesh Officers sailing on our vessels at present, we have already initiated in-house training facilities to enhance the Quality and the skills of our seafarers as a commitment.
